La Follette School faculty affiliated J. Michael Collins is a new member of the National Academy of Social Insurance. He is director of director of the Center for Financial Security at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
Academy members are recognized experts in Social Security, Medicare and health coverage, workers’ compensation, unemployment insurance, and related social assistance and private employee benefits. Individuals selected for membership have distinguished themselves by improving the quality of research, administration, or policymaking in one or more of these areas.
La Follette School professors Robert Haveman, Pamela Herd, Karen Holden and Barbara Wolfe are also members of the National Academy of Social Insurance.
