First-year students are being asked to nominate classmates to serve on the board of the La Follette School Student Association are underway.
Nominations are sought for vice president and for community service and outreach, social and graduation coordinators. Nominations should be sent to LSSA secretary Kelsey Hill, email@example.com, by Monday, September 17.
"I am excited about these upcoming elections,” says LSSA president Phil Sletten, who served on the board last year. “I have seen a good amount of interest from first years already, and there is a great potential for more first-year involvement in the student association. I expect that we'll have terrific candidates step forward this year."
Only first-year students can nominate and vote to fill the four offices; they may nominate themselves. LSSA changed its constitution last year to increase involvement by incoming students.
The election will run Monday, September 24, through Thursday, September 27.LSSA alters constitution to involve more first-year students, March 30, 2012, La Follette School News
