Student association elections underway

First-year students are voting this week to fill four positions on the La Follette School Student Association executive board. Online voting ends Wednesday, September 26, at 11:30 p.m.

Four people are running for vice president, who gauges and communicates the opinions of first-year students, represents their interests on the executive board, leads initiatives not included in the duties of other officers and conducts the election for the student speaker at graduation.

Two people are running for social co-coordinator. The winner will work with the second-year social coordinator to organize activities to promote the development of personal and professional relationships among members.

Two people are running for graduation co-coordinator who, with the second-year co-coordinator, will plan the graduation ceremony.

Three people are running for community service and outreach co-coordinator. These two officers connect students with volunteer opportunities.

LSSA changed its constitution in spring 2012 to increase involvement of first-year students. For information on the election, contact LSSA president Phil Sletten, psletten@wisc.edu.
