First-year MPAs win Penny Wars

The Penny Wars sponsored by the La Follette School Student Association raised $219.76 for Doctors without Borders.

First year-Master of Public Affairs students won the wars, which ended November 7. Organizer Gabrielle Elzinga-Marshall thanks everyone who participated. "Don't forget that food donations are now being accepted in the bin in the La Follette School basement for Second Harvest's Share Your Holidays food drive," she adds.

Final standings

First-year MPAs: -$28.99
Second-year MPAs: -$30.05
Students in Master of International Public Affairs degree program: -$37.04
Faculty/Staff: -$84.46

Standings are calculated by subtracting the value of collected bills and silver coins from the value of the collected pennies. The more pennies, the better the standing.

LSSA will make the donation through the campus Partners in Giving program.
