Alumni, friends, students, faculty and staff are invited to the La Follette School on Thursday, July 24, for the annual Hill Fest picnic. The event is held on the beautiful La Follette School grounds overlooking Lake Mendota at 1225 Observatory Drive.
The event goes from 5 to 7 p.m., offering a chance to socialize, play games, and network.
"I'm looking forward to Hill Fest, it will be great to catch up with friends and faculty and meet some alumni, all while enjoying the beautiful view from the house," says La Follette School Student Association president Carl Christiansen.
At 6 p.m., a farewell will be offered to professor Isao Kamata as he leaves La Follette for his new job at Kobe University in Japan.
Inclement weather will move the party inside the La Follette house.
"The La Follette School will provide burgers, brats, buns, condiments, table service, soda and water,” says school outreach specialist Bridget Pirsch. “Guests are asked to bring a dish to share and additional beverages that they may want. RSVPs are encouraged but not required. We’d love to see you!”
Children, families and friends are welcome. Free parking is available after 4:30 p.m. in lot 26 at the school and along Observatory Drive and lot 34 across Observatory Drive from the La Follette School (between Liz Waters Hall and Tripp Commons).
