Newspaper features Yackee, Herd

La Follette School Director Susan Webb Yackee and Professor Pamela Herd are among the College of Letters and Science faculty featured in a special section of the March 22 Wisconsin State Journal.

Yackee's article focuses on how her research helps to solve real-world governance problems. She studies how lobbying by industry, public interest groups and citizens affect the writing of federal and state government regulations.

Herd's article describes the Wisconsin Longitudinal Study and its examination of what makes people prosperous, health and happy. Herd is the principal investigator of the study and is leading efforts to add genetic and microbiome data to the information collected by survey and interview.
