Student social raising funds for local nonprofits

La Follette School students are raising money for Madison-area nonprofit organizations by seeing whether first-year or continuing students can sell the most tickets to an April 9 social at Brocach.

The Community Champions Social will be 7 to 11 p.m. in a private room. Monday, April 6, is the deadline to purchase tickets.

"The goal of our Community Champions Social is to raise money for local nonprofit organizations doing good work," says organizer Mallory Palmer, social coordinator for the La Follette School Student Association. "Money raised from first-year students will go to Dane County Rape Crisis Center, while funds from continuing students will be given to Boys and Girls Club of Dane County."

Tickets cost $40 each (or $75 for a couple comprising a student and a non-student) and can be purchased online. Reservations are required. Ticket price includes attendance, a free drink, hors d'oeuvres and charity contribution. If the cost is an issue for a student, she or he should contact Lindsay Garber (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) to discuss options.
