Offered in 2007-08, these seminars were for employees with the Division of Executive Budget and Finance in the Wisconsin Department of Administration. The La Follette School Outreach Office connected University of Wisconsin - Madison professors and academic staff with the state budget team.
Topics varied according to speakers but each seminar involves 20 minutes of presentation on issues such as health care, immigration, pollution, bio-mass energy, agriculture, juvenile crime, corrections, etc. Forty minutes of discussion then followed. These sessions were background briefings that might have applied directly or indirectly to topics with which the budget team might have wrestled with.
