Robert M. La Follette School of Public Affairs

The Center for Financial Security develops and disseminates applied research on consumer and household finance. The center works with public agencies and policymakers on issues of financial regulation, including hosting the federal Financial Literacy and Education Commission field hearing in 2013, and sessions with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and U.S. Department of Treasury.

La Follette School faculty member J. Michael Collins is the faculty director, and La Follette School professor Pamela Herd is on the center's steering committee. Professor emeritus Karen Holden conducts research with the center on retirement as well as financial learning of children.
