Professor Dennis Dresang began the Center for Wisconsin State, Local, and Tribal Governance in 1995 to house, in one spot, the numerous outreach efforts by La Follette School professors who worked with mayors, communities, tribes, and others on issues such as youth violence, intergovernmental relations, leadership, personnel policies, and more. The center operated until 2008, when Professor Dresang retired.
