Alumna Shager sharing IRP’s efforts to reduce poverty during WN@TL

Hilary Shager (MPA ’05, PhD ’12) will discuss the Institute for Research on Poverty’s efforts to bring rigorous scientific evidence to bear on some of society’s thorniest problems during Wednesday Nite @ The Lab (WN@TL) January 16 from 7 to 8:15 p.m.

Shager’s presentation, The Institute for Research on Poverty (IRP) at UW–Madison: Reducing Poverty Via Researcher, Practitioner, and Community Partnerships, is at UW–Madison’s Biotechnology Center, 425 Henry Mall. IRP, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2016, is the sole federally funded National Poverty Research Center in the United States.

ShagerShager joined IRP in March 2018 as Associate Director of Programs and Management after serving as the La Follette School’s Associate Director from 2014 to 2018. At IRP, she also is the project manager for the new DreamUp Wisconsin initiative.
