Jonny Hunter (MPA ’11) received his fifth straight nomination for a prestigious James Beard Award in the category of Best Chef: Midwest. The awards are considered the top honor in the culinary world.
Launched in 2011, Hunter’s Underground Food Collective now includes five businesses: Underground Catering, Underground Meets, The Heights, Forequarter Restaurant, and Underground Butcher. In 2013, Forequarter was nominated for a Best New Restaurant in the U.S. award.
Hunter, who also received a bachelor’s degree from UW–Madison, received a Forward under 40 Award from the Wisconsin Alumni Association in 2015.
