David Boardman (MPA ’16) has joined the University of Wisconsin System as a government relations specialist. Most recently, Boardman was a legislative aide for State Rep. Joan Ballweg.
As the government relations specialist, Boardman will provide support to the state relations, federal relations, and economic development teams, and he will assist with the execution of UW System’s legislative strategy at the state and federal levels.
Originally from Wauwatosa, Boardman was a full-time legislative aide for State Rep. Dave Murphy, the chair of the Assembly Committee on Colleges and Universities, while pursuing his master’s degree. In this role, he provided research for several pieces of legislation related to college affordability and successfully guided them through the legislative process into law.
Boardman received bachelor’s degrees in political science and in public administration and policy analysis from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where he served as vice president of the Student Government Association during his senior year.
