Alumni, friends, students, faculty, and staff will gather Tuesday, September 4 for the La Follette School’s annual Hill Fest welcome picnic. Hill Fest will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on the beautiful La Follette grounds overlooking Lake Mendota at 1225 Observatory Drive.
Incoming La Follette School Director Susan Yackee will welcome attendees, and Hilary Shager (MPA ’05, PhD ’12) will provide brief remarks. Shager, who served as the School’s associate director from 2014 – 2016, is associate director of programs and management/researcher at the national Institute for Research on Poverty at UW–Madison.
Picnic food, including a vegetarian option, and beverages will be provided, and a cash bar will be available. There will be opportunities to socialize, play games, and network. Children, families, and friends are welcome.
Free parking is available after 4:30 p.m. along Observatory Drive (Lot 26) and in Lot 34 between Liz Waters Hall and Tripp Commons. Bus routes 80 and 81 also have stops within a block of the La Follette School.
For planning purposes, RSVPs are encouraged but not required via this form by Monday, August 27.
