The Center for European Studies at UW–Madison belongs to a select group of U.S. Department of Education Title VI National Resource Centers that receive funds to educate university audiences, the K-14 community, the broader public, and state agencies about Europe.
The center brings together scholars from across campus and links departments, courses, and people to offer further stimulation through symposia, conferences, and guest speakers on various topics concerning Europe.
La Follette School faculty affiliate Nils Ringe, an associate professor in the Department of Political Science, is director of the Center for European Studies and the Jean Monnet European Union Center of Excellence. Several La Follette School faculty members serve as affiliates of the Center for European Studies.
In addition, the La Follette School collaborates with the Center for European Studies to bring highly regarded scholars to the UW–Madison campus and several La Follette School students serve as project assistants with the center.
