Drawing on a series of case studies of similar cross-sector collaborative efforts spearheaded by local governments across the country, this report provides Dane County with a series of best practices and recommendations for its new Council on Climate Change. The analysis included evaluating literature and conducting case studies of government entities that have established effective climate change adaptation and mitigation practices and successfully integrated partnerships in these efforts. Based on interests expressed by Dane County, these pursuits also focused on the issues of equity and diversity. Recommendations include short-term, medium-term, and long-term steps to assist in the council’s implementation.
